Back on August 8th I made a post about Agloco titled “Is Agloco Going to be a HUGE Flop?”
My prediction was this:
I personally think that when Agloco gets all their server issues sorted out there is potential to to make some short term money. However, long term I’m not so sure. By far, I think the vast majority of Agloco users will make only a few dollars a month if any money at all. Those in the top 1% could make some nice short term money. However, as the other 98% of members in the network end up making pocket change they will begin uninstalling the toolbar and Agloco will die a slow death. I could be wrong.
My prediction was only half true because there was not even any short term success. Here is the email I received today:
Dear Tim,
We would like to update you on the status of AGLOCO’s operations. We continue to believe in the AGLOCO concept, but our revenue is currently not sufficient to give Members a meaningful distribution. And though there are increases in membership, the resulting revenue is not enough to support operating costs. As a development team we are unable to continue to use our savings to fund the operations. If any Member would like to pursue continuing the operations of AGLOCO, you may contact us at agloco1@live.com .
We would like to thank every Member for supporting our effort to bring a piece of the Internet directly to the user. We hope that we can find a way to keep the operations going.
AGLOCO Development Team
Agloco under the current ownership has flopped and may end up closing their doors forever. I’m not so sure how much was spent by Agloco on operations but I would think their current member database would be worth a pretty penny.
Hey, that’s a not a bad business model! Set up a new get paid to surf program and promise big things. Offer downline payouts and let everyone else market it like crazy. Build up a huge million member database. Then sell out for a nice profit. <– (being sarcastic).
RIP Agloco.

I somehow knew something like this was bound to happen. I never even bothered looking into install such a waste of hard drive space they call a toolbar ^_~
Well I always knew it was going to flop. I think the guys who started Agloco can still profit by selling all the emails…
It is another Internet Bubble.
Luckily I didn’t join Agloco, as I have never interested in this program of making money online all along. Thanks God!
Are you sure it’s not a scam? Is agloco1@live.com their real company email address? I know some people on Digital Point Forums who received that email and weren’t even members of Agloco. I’m not quite sure, but you never know. But anyway, I do agree with you - Agloco has been and always will be a big flop and a total waste of space.
I figured that’s what was going to happen to Agloco too. I was involved with their other toolbar venture a couple of years back. What was it called, AllAdvantage I think? That is why I didn’t go for Agloco.
Aspiring entrepreneurs should learn from this,so that they do not waste money and time on flop business models.
And Ruchir,I hope what you said does not happen.
I got that same email and wrote about it too.

The whole point of internet advertising is targeted ads that when you search for something, you get search results and advertising. I personally would not pay for it because people are only looking because they are being paid. My two cents, but I agree it’s going to be a flop.
That type of crap is so over. I signed up because I saw it on John Chow’s site. Then I saw what it was. I have written better looking software than that with VB6. Talk about a little preparation beforehand. Make your software look good. Crap. It’s all crap. And everyone likes slinging it even when they know it is crap, hoping that some people won’t realize it is and sign up enough people to make them money from the crap.
Enough crap words. But this was the type of stuff I ran into all the time before I found affiliate marketing. And I think it gives a bad name to making money online and throws off a lot of people that could probably make good money doing what we do.
there’s no such thing as easy money where we got paid for doing nothing…
i did register myself but spent none in promoting it
Yeah, its barely a surprise that was going to happen. The extreme hype and unlikely business model meant that it was too good to be true.

I never liked agloco. I’m sure lots of people are making money out of it, but it’s rapid growth couldn’t be sustained forever, there’s always a limit to MLM operations, especially when they offer little in return.
